Our Programs
BFAN’s programs are designed to support Black women accountants at every stage of their journey, from early-career growth to senior leadership and beyond. Organized around five pillars — Elevate, Connect, Thrive, Advocate, and Celebrate — our programming blends practical professional development, meaningful community, holistic well-being, and industry impact.
Whether you’re looking to sharpen your technical skills, expand your network, strengthen your confidence and financial foundations, or contribute to lasting change in the profession, there’s a place for you here.

Elevate: Professional Growth & Leadership Development
BFAN’s Elevate pillar helps members sharpen their technical expertise and accelerate their leadership journey. Through goal-setting support, tax and technical accounting updates, “AI for Accountants” learning, and practical masterclasses, members build confidence and capability for the next level. We also offer career navigation and leadership accelerator programming to help you move from intention to real advancement.

Connect: Community & Networking
Connect is where relationships turn into opportunities. We create spaces to meet, build genuine community, and grow your professional network through signature gatherings, local meetups, and conversation-driven forums like Connect & Converse. From speaker-led events (like the Tea Party) to milestone conferences and social get-togethers, members find their people and stay connected year-round.

Thrive: Personal & Holistic Well-Being
At BFAN, we support you as a whole person, not just as a professional. BFAN offers wellness and financial empowerment programming, budgeting and planning support, and confidence/visibility development to help members feel grounded and capable in every area of life. We also keep it fun and community-based with hobby spotlights, book or podcast clubs, and physical activity events (like golf, hiking, or ski outings).

Advocate: Industry Equity & Influence
Advocate is about shaping the profession and expanding access. BFAN amplifies Black women’s voices and influence through speaking opportunities, research and insights, and strategic corporate partnerships. We also invest in the future pipeline with scholarships and/or internship initiatives, and a speaker bureau that positions members as thought leaders in the accounting space.

Celebrate: Recognition & Legacy Building
Celebrate honors excellence, resilience, and impact across our community. Through events like Black History Month programming, resilience-focused speaker series, and annual awards, BFAN spotlights members who are trailblazing and making a difference. We also strengthen long-term legacy through “Pay it Forward” initiatives that encourage mentorship, giving back, and lifting others as we climb.
